Cal Scott and Richard Moore welcome Portland bandleader and composer Fred Stickley http://fredstickleymusic.com to the next Songwriter Circle at the beautifully renovated Lake Theater, Tuesday, October 2 at 7:00pm. This series is sponsored by Hearing Health of Raleigh Hills.
From a very young age Fred had an interest in art. Painting and drawing were his passion until receiving a used set of Pearl Drums on his 16th birthday, only later to dedicate himself to the piano and composing music.
A keyboardist, vocalist and composer, Fred has accrued credits for radio and television production along with two CDs of his own original music. A third CD is on the way. Fred's credits include Dateline NBC, The Tyra Banks Show, NFL Videos, numerous infomercials, and music for Canadian and Australian television.
Fred can easily contribute his share of tales about his days as keyboardist/vocalist with John Hiatt, his studio days at American Recording, working with some of rock's elite and the bazillion bands and shows along the way.
Freds current band King Beta plays his original music and dance covers, influenced by their love of jazz, r&b, blues, and rock. Theyve attracted a loyal following of fans who love their original songs and their unique spin on cover tunes.
The Circle regulars with Fred will be Cal Scott and Richard Moore, who have fine-tuned their acoustic chops together and individually over the past forty-some years. This year they completed seven years running as the hosts of the Songwriter Circle at the late, great OConnors Vault.
