When Bon, Ryan and Mitch first met in LA and started talking about getting together to create some music, they didn't know what to expect. Now as Soften The Glare, their music is evolving and constantly changing, bringing in elements from both their worlds and others. Ryan Martinie is known for his bass playing and songwriting for Mudvayne. Numerous world tours (including a stint with Korn), MTV awards and millions of records sold are part of his musical history. Bon Lozaga (Gong, Tiny Boxes) is known in the jazz/rock world and jamband scene (playing with moe. and Umphreys McGee) and has released over a dozen albums featuring such noted guests as Allan Holdsworth, Kai Eckhardt, David Torn, David Fiuczynski, with his various projects and has also toured throughout the world. Together with Mitch Hull, they create Soften The Glare!

The band won an Independent Music Award for The Reckoning, off of their 2014 EP, Laser Baron, the follow up to their debut Sleepwalker. Between the awards and rave reviews, the band has developed a reputation as a crushing force in the north east, tri-state and the southern New York music scenes, playing music festivals including NXNE, the official after-parties for Dream Theater, Clutch and The Sword, as well as opening for acts such as Consider the Source, Stu Hamm, Felix Martin, The Fine Constant, and Angel Vivaldi and Scale the Summit.
Bassist WilHelmus.! joined the band in Spring 2016, bringing new elements to the band's writing and performance as they toured the North East. They released their single "He Tried To Kill Me With a Forklift" premiered by Metal Underground, and had a banger of a release party at Garcia's at the Capitol Theatre in August, 2017. Then a couple months later, they released a music video, premiered by Decibel Magazine in October, 2017. The band joined forces with Westfall Recordings in Farmingdale, NY to work on their new full length album and they just finished tracking and are on to the mixing phase.
