The Stage Manager by Claudia Barr
Good, very experienced professional actors are rehearsing a production of Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra. The problem is the director: Nigel is the worst, most sarcastic director collecting a paycheck and phoning it in ever. He should die. This is an insider actors' take on why you might need to take out the director and what do you do about the body? And what is the theatrical superstition about the ghost light?

Claudia Barr (Playwright, Director) wrote and directed The Stage Manager. This is Claudias third SF Fringe experience, including that time she was pulled out of the audience to perform (reading from the script onstage) when an actor didn't make it to the performance. Her play Go Kibitz was in the 2005 Fringe. Claudia's last show was Wit's End at the Phoenix Theatre in 2017; she was playwright and also played Dorothy Parker. Proud member of Actors' Equity.
Valerie Façhman (Claire) is no stranger to EXIT Theatre, having recently played Juliette in Ionesco's "Exit the King" alongside Exit AD Christina Auguello & a stellar cast.First SF Fringe was 2009's "Tempestuous(ness)", produced by Performers Under Stress, at the old Garage.Val just closed in Left Hand Theatre's musical Spring Awakening. An Iowa native and former Chicago resident, she's happy to make SF home with husband Scott Baker, cats & (for now) collegiate daughter Ella.
Gabrielle (Simone) This is Gabrielle's first time at the S.F. Fringe. Native San Franciscan, she has been active in bay area theatre for 40 years. Past roles in include Kate Keller In the Miracle Worker, Titania in a Midsummer Night's Dream, and Elizabeth Proctor in the Crucible. A proud member of Left Coast Theatre Company and a member of the late great San Francisco Free Civic Theatre. She hopes you enjoy our show !
Joe Mader (Ken) last appeared as Alan Campbell in Claudia Barr's "Wit's End." He served as the managing director for 42nd Street Moon for four years and stage managed several of their productions prior to that. He was also a film and theater critic for various publications including the SF Weekly, the San Francisco Examiner, Salon.com, and the Hollywood Reporter. Joe currently works at Cisco Systems.
Cameron La Brie (Brad) is very happy to take part in the SF Fringe for the very first time! He was last seen in Landmark Musical Theatre's production of The Fantasticks as Matt (the Boy). Recent credits also include The Henry Rios Podcast (Hugh Paris), Saturday Night at 42nd Street Moon (Bobby), Cabaret at Contra Costa Civic Theatre (Emcee), and Heathers: The Musical with BareStage Productions. John Tichenor (Nigel) is a BATCC award-winning actor who has performed throughout the Bay Area and all over the country, even Wisconsin. Favorite roles include Leo Bloom (The Producers), Seymour (Little Shop), Hysterium (Forum) and Puck (Midsummer). Hes also worked in the film biz, run a childrens theater, and toured with the Reduced Shakespeare Company. Proud member of Actors Equity.
Chris Maltby (Bill) A Seattle native, Chris appeared there as Uncle Willie in "High Society," Chip in "On the Town," and Cole Porter in "Red, Hot and Cole". In San Francisco he has been seen as Mr. Collins in "Pride and Prejudice, the Musical," and Florence Wexler, in "Devil Boys from Beyond" as well as acting, writing and directing for Left Coast Theatre Co. Most recently he directed the world premiere of "Come Here Often?" for LCTC.
