SONGS OF THE SILVER SCREEN
Songs of the Silver Screen presented by The Puget Sounders Acappella Mens Chorus
Grays Harbor will quiver and ringing chords will make you shiver with delight when barbershop harmony comes to the 7th Street Theatre in Hoquiam at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9. The program will feature a lot of great singing by the best performers of four-part a cappella vocalizing in the South Sound area.
The Puget Sounders mens chorus, under the direction of Melanie McGuire, will present songs from memorable motion pictures, such as Oliver!, The Wizard of Oz, Lost in the Stars, and The Music Man, that will start you humming along with the singers. You think you know what barbershop singing sounds like? Wait until youve heard the Puget Sounders!
Headlining the show will be Wink, an outstanding womens quartet that has been a winner in regional competition against foursomes in the northwestern states and western Canada. Also on the program will be a mens quartet, from Centralia and Chehalis, called the Two-Town Sound. The Olympia Sweet Adelines 45-voice womens chorus, directed by Ted Chamberlain, will fill out the show bill. Their up-tempo rendition of popular songs is sure to please.
