Event
Shotgunn
Shotgunn was formed in 1973 by five young musicians fresh out of high school. They played at school dances, and clubs in the area. There were some personnel changes over the next couple of years, but by early 1976 the band split up due to musical differences. Later that year two of the original members recruited other musicians to form Shotgunn II. This edition played clubs in Dauphin, and Schuylkill counties. After about a year they also disbanded.
Fast forward to 2003. Members from both editions of the band got together to do a thirty year reunion show to benefit The American Cancer Society. It was supposed to be a one time thing, but it was so successful, and the members had so much fun they decided to do a show every year. Every year they would work with a different charity, or organization. Over the years some members left, and were replaced by others. The band started playing more, and evolved into the eleven piece outfit it is today. With the edition of a female vocalist, a four piece horn section, keyboards, and a percussionist they are able to do a wide variety of music. Anything from Chicago, and Blood Sweat and Tears to Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Jefferson Airplane. Theres something for everyone.
