Illvis Freshly and Sirreal Double Album Release
Illvis Freshly and Sirreal are thrilled to announce a double album release party for our projects Certified Fresh and In The Nick Of Time Saturday June 2 at the Rainbow Room in Port Alberni. Doors at 8 PM, tickets 20 $ in advance. Island Entertainment will be providing the sound and stage. Tickets available at The Rainbow Room. Support provided by JDK Nonstop, Bloke1, and Mt. Doyle.

Illvis Freshly is a funky, bass heavy, hip-hop monster. Theyve blended the classic sample heavy hip hop sound of the 90s with live rock n roll, guitar, rapping, and turntablisim. The two MCs, Danimal House and Doc Zoo, bring high energy, raw, and unforgiving lyrics with crazy flows and a wide variety of content and themes. DJ Mt Doyle is always on point, scratching, mixing, and keeping the party live. Phil Lyons absolutely shreds the guitar, captivating the crowd with face melting riffs and his ridiculously entertaining antics. Illvis Freshlys debut LP entitled What Chu Know About Illvis? received huge support from the world-wide hip hop, funk and electronic scenes. A diverse collection of remixes from artists stretching from Vancouver Island all the way to the UK and New Zealand helped establish Illvis Freshly as one of the most progressive, accessible and fun acts in Canadian hip hop. This momentum was recognized in 2015, as Illvis Freshly won Best Urban/Electronic Recording for their song On The Breaks and Group of the Year from the Vancouver Island Music Awards. In November 2016 they released their sophomore album, Illennials, a take on our current state of affairs regarding everything from politics to the disenfranchised millennial generation. The album charted on numerous campus radio stations across Canada and also received commercial plays, with Upside Down ft. Caleb Hart being selected as the January single for Victoria radio station The Zone 91.3s Band of the Month program. Illvis Freshly continued their streak of success at the 2016 VIMAs, again winning Group of the Year and again winning Best Urban/Electronic Recording, this time for Upside Down ft. Caleb Hart. 2017 was another groundbreaking year for Illvis Freshly, completing their first extended tour, playing their first shows in both Alberta and California, and perhaps most importantly, cooking up a whole new batch of funky tunes for their upcoming project in 2018.
Illvis Freshly has become a staple in the west coast music scene, bringing their feel good party vibes to a number of amazing festivals including Atmosphere Gathering, Shambhala Music Festival, Rifflandia, Electric Love Music Festival, Fozzyfest, Boogaloo Music & Art Car Festival, Kamp Festival, Song and Surf, the High Times Cannabis Cup Canada, Quadrapalooza, Victoria Ska and Reggae Festival, the Five Acre Shaker and Tall Tree Music Festival. Sirreal is an original hip hop artist bringing hard hitting beats and lyrical talent to every performance. As an entertainer Sirreal knows how much hard work and dedication it takes to be one on Vancouver Islands' best. Born in Comox, BC and currently holding it down for Nanaimo, this hip hop phenomenon takes full advantage of today's technology wrangling his army of fans via internet, music videos, albums, concert promotions and constant hustle. Just like the music industry, the life of this rising star has not been easy. Devastated by the untimely death of both his father and older brother, Sirreal learned to stand as a man conquering his demons of addiction and poverty. Sirreal boldly laces his lyrics with the die hard truths of reality and its consequences whether they be positive or negative. Sirreal's musical style bridges all genres of music by blending truthful hard-hitting lyrics with a live touring stage band by the name of Blue Satellite.
With great determination and gratitude, Sirreal's "Self Centred" album has been released independently and has sold 1200 physical copies as well as 1000 digital sales to date. He has a large social media following on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and Youtube with his youtube videos averaging 30-40,00 views. He does a weekly live stream called "Lower Case Thursdays" with his 9 yr old son that regularly sees 800-1000 viewers every week for so far 50 weeks. If you haven't heard him yet, now is your chance to give one of Vancouver Island's finest a listen. When you hear Sirreal on stage with his live band Blue Satellite it will change your perception of what hip hop sounds like.
A nationwide tour in March in support of Sirreal's new album "In the Nick of Time" will also coincide with instore signings and performances as well as a series of workshops on resilience through music, presented in schools and on first nations reserves in the cities that he travels.
Sirreal wishes to inspire hope in others and help people feel less alone with their struggles, music helped him through the worst of times and now he dedicates his life to giving his music to others so that they may find peace in his words.
Recently Sirreal won the Sunrise Records nationwide talent contest which will see SIrreal's new album in 88 Sunrise Records stores across Canada have helped raise over $15000 for BC Childrens Hospital through fundraising shows. He's raised $25,000 through a Kickstarter campaign in 19 days to pay for his new album and tour
Having come from a poor family, Sirreal put on a series of benfit shows to pay for his brothers funeral. He's won a Battle of the Bands against 12 other full bands to win $5000 in Errington BC
and placed 2nd in the Nanaimo Battle of the Bands at the Cambie hotel. Sirreal won the "So you think you can rap" contest in Victoria BC taking home $1000, took 1st place in the "Open for Classified" contest in Nanaimo and in doing so got to meet one of his idols.
He played Electric Love Festival and Rifflandia Festival in 2017 and has compiled a record of 9-1 in rap battling in both freestyle and prewritten formats .
Sirreal's reputation precedes him. He continues to shine with over 200 shows all over BC and Alberta. Opening for such artists as Nelly, Tech Nine (5 Times!!!), Classified, Royce Da 59, Bone Thugs N Harmony, T.I., B Real of Cypress Hill, Devin The Dude, Heavy Metal Kings (Vinny Paz and Ill Bill), Masta Ace, Bif Naked,

Mt. Doyle is a product of his environment The outstanding electronic music scene of Vancouver Island. Originally a purveyor of fine Drum n Bass, Doyle has expanded his horizons to include Funk, House, Hip-Hop and Bass, all with his soulful west coast flavor. Over the years Mt. Doyle has played lounges, clubs and festivals all over B. C. including The Commodore Ballroom and The Tall Tree Festival 6 years in a row.
