The Goonies
Adapted by Chris Columbus from a story by Steven Spielberg, this story follows a band of misfit kids who live in the "Goon Docks" neighborhood of Astoria, Oregon, as they attempt to save their homes from demolition, and, in doing so, discover an old Spanish map that leads them on an adventure to unearth the long-lost fortune of One-Eyed Willy, a legendary 17th-century pirate. Here they cross the path of lady criminal Mama Fratelli and her outlaw brood. Fortunately, the kids manage to befriend Fratelli's hideously deformed (but soft-hearted) son, who comes to their rescue.
