Community Barn Dance & Dinner
"Erik Thor & Hands Four", a wonderful fiddle, guitar, accordion, and banjo band, will offer up foot stompin', hand clappin' Americana tunes for an evening of barn-style contradancing at the Fort Bragg Guild's Inglenook Community Center located at 26500 N. HWY 1 about 6 miles north of Fort Bragg, CA. The date is Saturday, April 28, 2018. Doors will open at 5:30 PM for food, fun, and drinks. Music and dancing begin at 7:00 PM and will end at 9:30 PM.
Members of the band include dance caller & fiddle player, Erik Hoffman, Michael Harmon on the guitar, and Ingrid Noyes, on the banjo and accordion.
So, what is "contradancing"? It is a close cousin to square dancing but other circles, mixers, and squares will be included, depending on the mood of the crowd and the "caller". No partner is necessary and all dances are taught and all ages are welcome.
Erik Hoffman, fiddler extraordinaire, everyone's favorite, will be the "caller" keeping the music coming and keeping your feet dancing. For a little sample of the music, dancing, and the fun visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLOPv0qva-Y .
Tickets are $10.00 online with Brown Paper Tickets, or at Nello's Market on the corner of Main and Elm Streets in Fort Bragg, CA, or at the door the day of the event. Children 14 years old and younger can enter for free.
A South-Of-The-Border Dinner will be available for $12.00. Also, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for a separate charge.
Please come to this old fashion Community Barn Dance with "Erik Thor & Hands Four" for the funnest evening of dance and music ever. This is a fun band from out of the area. So, it is a special musical event opportunity that does not come around Fort Bragg very often.
