A Conversation with Cheryl Boone Isaacs at CASCADIA International Women's Film Festival
Immediate Past President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (the Oscars), Cheryl Boone Isaacs, will lead a conversation with Bellingham's own Deb Slater at a special event as part of CASCADIA International Women's Film Festival (April 12-15, 2018).
Boone Isaacs is the Academy's first African-American and third female president of the 90-year organization. She is a film marketing and public relations executive and has represented the public relations branch of the Academy best known for the Academy Awards (The Oscars). Boone Isaacs has also served on the Academy's Board of Governors for more than two decades.
As a Special Honored Guest of the Festival, Boone Isaacs will share behind-the-scenes experiences as a public relations and marketing executive for major motion pictures and as Academy President with her personal reflections about women, African Americans and power in the American and international film industry.
A limited number of free tickets for the Harold and Irene Walton Theatre program at Mount Baker Theatre beginning at 7:00 PM are available to the public to reserve now. Free ticket holders should plan to arrive by 6:45 PM. Any free reserved tickets not claimed by 6:50 PM will be released to walk-ins until the venue capacity is reached.
