2018 AWIS-NCC Winter Workshop: Unleash your Leadership Potential
In this workshop you will learn how to overcome self-limiting fears and deeply ingrained patterns of behavior, design disruptive experiments to create change and tap into your zone of genius. The speaker, Laura Gates, has worked with hundreds of clients who felt stuck and powerless in their careers using her Leading on PurposeTM methodology, helping them unleash their leadership potential, harness their creativity and find innovative and inspirational solutions for living their purpose at work. Laura's clients have overcome seemingly impossible challenges, including dead-end careers, devastating performance reviews, toxic work environments and horrible bosses.
This workshop format combines lecture and presentation with exercises in paired and small groups breakouts, time for connection and networking, case stories presented for learning and inspiration.
Topics Include:
- Getting out of your own way where are you your own worst enemy?
- Tapping your Zone of Genius bringing the best of you to work
- Having hard conversations
- Disruptive Experiments rapid results for creating change
- Learning Lab design experiments, making a plan, commitment to change.
This will be a practical, experiential program combining real-life examples with training and interactive exercises in a learning lab format. Guest speakers will weave their inspirational and instructional stories to demonstrate how they've applied these tools in their own lives and gained substantial results in traditionally male-dominated industries. They'll share how they negotiated raises, promotions, transitioned to new jobs, been invited to give TedX talks and asked to step up to opportunities beyond their dreams. And in some cases, (we know this one is hard to believe) they actually took vacations and enjoyed some much-needed time off! Learn how you can find back your energy and free up time and resources to make an impact in your fields.
You will leave this session with:
- A renewed hope and inspiration for your career and life
- Concrete practical, applicable tools for manifesting change in your life
- A plan for when you leave to implement immediately
- An accountability partner to provide support and follow through
