An intimate multi-genre writers' night with 6 unstoppable artists, award winners and rising stars: Maverick, Gracie Day, Jazzmyn RED, Aubrey Haddard, Liz Borden and Josh Knowles plus special guests Annie Brobst, Erika Van Pelt with Ryan Faraday, Lee Moretti of the Furies, Paige Davis and LIVV. Influenced by Nashville rounds - with a twist! Powerhouse artists with sounds including alt-rock, punk, country, hip hop, soul, jazz, blues, classical, pop and indie soul share the stage plus the stories behind the songs, their bands and their lives. It's also a night of surprises, a launch party, and a special release by Gracie Day!

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

MAVERICK is the nights opening act and lead singer for all-female Boston band Flight of Fire. She and the band have won awards from the Hollywood Music and Media Awards, the New England Music Awards and the Limelight Music Awards. Maverick is known for her powerful, versatile voice and her unapologetically sincere songwriting style.

GRACIE DAY is known for her heartfelt storytelling combined with a dynamic alt-rock, soul, and country infused sound. Named Best New Act 2017 by the New England Music Awards and Best Folk Band 2017 in CTNows Best of Hartford Readers Poll, Gracie splits her time between Greater Boston and Hartford, performing mostly with her band. Gracie is sharing a special release at this show as well as songs recently recorded in Nashville and Greater Boston.

LIZ BORDEN is a Boston legend. She is known as one of the pioneers of the Boston punk movement, as the band leader for Lizzie Borden & The Axes, which was one of the first all-female rock bands to hit the scene in the 80s. She currently gigs with the Liz Borden Band and works as a recording songwriter, writing for movies, TV, commercials and other artists.

AUBREY HADDARD is a self-described whiskey-soaked and sugar-coated singer-songwriter that some describe as indie-soul or jazz infused alt rock. Shes releasing her concept album in March  named from the idea that the blue part is the hottest and most intense part of a flame. This concept album is an unapologetic testament steeped in concepts of love and passion. Though thematically centered, Blue Part is a fearless musical venture that balances between challenging and accessible.

JAZZMYN RED is a passionate, driven hip hop soul artist who blends her talents of poetry, singing, and rhyming to create music that has a powerful, socially progressive message. Recently off tour, shell be performing originals for us, including the song that topped the college radio charts in 2017. Her influences include the late great Tupac Shakur as well as Lauryn Hill, Queen Latifah, and Alicia Keys.

JOSH KNOWLES is a violinist, singer/songwriter, and composer based in Boston, MA. An alumni of Berklee College of Music, he brings an eclectic array of influences to his work. Riding the line between indie/folktronica and contemporary classical, his music is both symphonic and electronic, unique in its combination of melodic foundation and technical prowess. Hes also known for his lead role in the band Nemes. He recently released his solo project at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in February 2018.

SPECIAL GUESTS: 

ANNIE BROBST is a multiple award-winning singer/songwriter and leader of the Annie Brobst Band. Among many accomplishments, she's the New England Music Awards Female Performer of the Year 2017 AND New England Country Music Awards Local Female Artist of the Year 2017. Accompanied by Ryan Dupont, she'll be performing one of her recently pre-released songs Love You More from her upcoming album My First Rodeo.

LEE MORETTI is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of all female band The Furies. She is also known for her time spent as Third Eye Blind's multi-instrumentalist and background vocalist. Lee brings both lyrical finesse and instrumental prowess, mixing ferocious hooks and lush harmonies that draw from wide influences; Jeff Buckley, Regina Spektor and Led Zeppelin.

ERIKA VAN PELT is an eleventh season American Idol top 10 finalist, wholl be performing with RYAN FARADAY. Erika is one of New Englands most beloved powerhouse vocalists and songwriters, with a sound that brings in blues, pop, soul and rock influences. Erikas talent and passion were highlighted on the international American Idols LIVE! Tour 2012. Her original music earned her two New England Music Awards nominations for 2013 including Album of the Year and Indie/Pop Artist of the Year. Erika and Ryan often perform in the region as a duo or with their band.

PAIGE DAVIS is a 16-year-old winner of numerous awards from the New England Country Music Organization including Best Female Vocalist and Horizon New Artist Award. She's the New England Music Awards 2017 Country Act of the Year! Paige returns to Behind the Songs to perform one of her most recent original songs.

LIVV is a 15-year-old American singer-songwriter who recently released Tear Down the Walls as a preview of her upcoming project. She has worked with a team of Grammy Award-winning producers and writers to display her vocal talent. LIVV believes there is so much love in the world, but "a lot goes unsaid" because people are often afraid to say what they truly feel in fear of unfair judgement or lack of acceptance.
