Rainier Chorale Masterworks Concert
In his day, Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778-1837) was highly respected as a composer and pianist. Hummel has the distinction of being the only full time music student W.A. Mozart ever took on. Although he is most remembered for his piano compositions, his sacred music is also well regarded. The Mass in B-flat is the first of five orchestral masses composed by Hummel during his time at the Esterhazy court, and continues the tradition of the masses of Mozart and Haydn. Join the Rainier Chorale in late March for a performance of this marvelous work, plus selections by other master composers. One performance only! In the sanctuary of Kent United Methodist Church, 11010 SE 248th Street, in Kent.
