Girl in a Coma Speaks!
Chicana punk rockers Girl In A Coma join the San Antonio Public Library for an honest, revealing hour-long discussion about their lives, music and experiences.
Best friends Jenn Alva (bass) and Phanie Diaz (drummer), and Phanie's little sister Nina Diaz (singer/guitarist), have found many champions and comrades in the rock world. Joan Jett signed them to Blackheart Records labels and they scored tours with Morrissey, Sia, Tegan and Sara, The Pogues and Amanda Palmer. Filmmaker Robert Rodriguez asked them to compose one of the key songs for his film "Machete."
Their latest album, 2011's "Exits & All the Rest", made NPR's list of Top 50 Albums and took the Independent Music Award for Best Indie/Alt. Rock Album.
