A forbidden love story takes a wholly unexpected but richly rewarding turn. Berlin baker Tomas embarks on a passionate affair with Oren, a businessman visiting from Jerusalem. When Oren dies suddenly in a car crash, Tomas travels to Israel seeking answers. Keeping his secret for himself, he starts working in a café for Anat, his lovers widow. Juxtapositions of Germany and Israel, gay and straight, child and adult, secular and religious, truth and deception and the gorgeous character of food, are simply and beautifully filmed in this quiet, but powerful story of intimacy, loss and love.
