Phyllida Anam-Aire in Concert
This is a unique opportunity here in Glasgow: You are most cordially invited to share in the joy of hearing Phyllida sing, one of the Celtic world's most closely kept secrets.
Phyllida was born in the hills of Donegal Ireland is mother to two adult children and is Granny P to her grandchild. Being Mother and Grandmother are the two most important roles she lives. Phyllida believes that Life is the greatest gift we have been given so she lives this gift to the full. Having absorbed the religious restrictions of a strict Catholic cradling, and later as a nun, she now lives life free from such patriarchal impositions believing that "what does not serve humanity does not serve God". Phyllida includes sacred ritual, music, poetry and art in her work in psychotherapy and bereavement counseling. Phyllida teaches that Self compassion is the core ingredient in healing and when we look at ourself and all creation through the eyes of love, we live Love on earth.
Come and hear song, poetry and story in Gaelic, English and German, and above all in the language beyond language, the language of the Celtic Soul, of Anam. You will be welcomed by music and voice soft and gentle, feisty and rock 'n' roll, blues and jazz, and so much more.
Phyllida has published several books, amongst them "The Celtic book of Dying", "Celtic consciousness and contemporary living", and about a dozen CDs. Many of which are very difficult to get hold of these days.
Check some of these videos; here are the only online songs by her that exist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjXE6qKHXbw&list=PLrWm2ncJJISROJ8VS4lsCBnKoSifIYqty
and here is Phyllida's latest album "Gathered in" on CD baby https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/phyllidaanamaire1 "Phyllida's music is that of the soul which deeply moves people in profound ways. All Embedded in the Celtic life. The Celts have a profound understanding of the uniting forces of love and compassion as a path to enlightenment."
