Cinderella Cares Second Annual Comedy For Cure Event
Each year Cinderella Cares puts on a comedy show with musical guest to raise funds for Holy Cross Hospital and Lung Cancer Alliance our partners in the fight for a cure.
This year we are happy provide world class comedians Ian Salmon, Tony Woods, Sylvia Traymore Morrison and Mark Matusof as our comedy entertainment. The show is hosted by comedian/actor Ian Salmon who is also a co-founder of Cinderella Cares.
Hosted by IAN SALMON He began stand-up comedy in the early 90s and has been cranking out laughs ever since.
The comedian is noted for is his ability to keep his jokes fresh and unique. He weaves together experiences of travel, divorce and fatherhood, creating an enthralling web of comedy that will leave people in side-splitting laughter. With everything he's done, the man has endless material to use for the reward of a good laugh.
He was also a semi-finalist in 2003 in Comedy Central's Laugh Riots, a national competition for best new comedians in the country. He has been seen in TV shows "Flash Forward," "The Mentalist" and "Criminal Minds"; and in the films "Dark Eyes" and "Minority Report."
TONY WOODS Tony Woods is a one-of-a-kind comedic legend that is always in control of his audience. A seasoned veteran in the comedy business, Tony is recognized not only by fans but by his peers as one of the best and most engaging comedians in the business.
Tony has a strong following in the US, UK, Australia and Europe. Born in North Carolina and raised in the D.C. area, Woods kicked off his career as an original member of Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam on HBO and P. Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy.
SYLVIA TRAYMORE MORRISON
Originally from Washington, DC, Sylvia is the only renowned African American Female Impressionist in the country. She was one of the first solo artists to tour and open for Whitney Houston when Ms. Houston was one of the biggest names in the entertainment business. The arenas they performed in sometimes housed well over 30,000 people.
When heavyweight boxing was at its zenith and Muhammad Ali was in his prime, Sylvia was asked to host a Roast of the Champ at the legendary Apollo Theater.
MARK MATUSOF
Based in Washington D.C. he has been described in the press as: "funny without being vulgar or nasty" and "going the smarter, hipper direction to the joke". A former aerospace engineer fast becoming a favorite entertainer across North America from Las Vegas to the Bahamas. His comedy is clever, thoughtful, and most importantly, hilarious!
