Peachy Chicken's 1st Friday: JaNewYeary!
With 2017 safely pressed away between 2 pages in the "Giant Book of WTF", 2018's First First Friday Improvisational is ready to break free from its playpen. And it's ready to rock with 33% MORE ACTS than the regular show.
Our first host of the year is also hosting the FFI for the first time! Katie Nguyen writes and performs stand-up, improv, sketch, and more. She has opened for big-name comics (including Ron Funches!), and has performed in many festivals across the country. She was named one of the Portland Mercury's original Geniuses of Comedy. As a performer, Katie has been described as "dry, deeply silly" and "weird, in a wonderful way." We love Katie!
Improv group Gladys Kravitz, several-time veterans of the FFI, fill the feature spot in this month's show. These are some funny women, folks, for your feature festivity.
Our EXTRA BONUS: musical group Jumblehead! They were so incredible last month that we're having them back. Formed by Evan Gutt (drums) and Nick Wright (6-strong bass), Jumblehead fuses jazz, funk, electronic music, and odd time to produce hypnotically catchy musical movements. The duo is proud to feature Joshua Davis (saxophone) and Johnny Holliday (guitar) in many live shows. You guys, Jumblehead is SO GOOD.
And as always, Peachy Chicken shows up for its own event! We'll skewer some sacred cows and play some poignant pontifications. You know, the way we do! Plan now for this amazing night. DON'T MISS OUT!
