Sarcassy Sneek Invites you to the 2nd Sensational Southside Soirée
The first Sensational Southside Soiree sold out and having nearly recovered from the hilarity Sarcassy Sneek is back presenting a fantastic line-up showcasing some of the awesome talent the Southside of Glasgow has to offer with special guest Gilda Lily. All are getting together to promote, raise funds and give a flavour of the upcoming Southside Fringe which will put the Southside firmly on the Glasgow arts map with a fortnight of arts and entertainment spanning the Southside in May 2013.
The Impov Dogs
Wowing, wooing and eww-ing to a sell-out audience, headliners the Improv Dogs went down and created a storm at the last Soiree. With a regular evening in The Bungo these pups have exposed audiences to a journey they never thought possible and to sights they can never un-see. Verbal agility and mental dexterity as standard, their sketches will stay with you for weeks. "Comedy improvisation based on audience suggestions. We play improv games and act out scenes and scenarios derived from suggestions garnered from audience members. Deeply irreverent, outrageously funny and not for the faint-hearted."

Gilda lily
Sarcassy is over the moon to have the delightful Gilda Lily join the line-up for the Soiree. Beautifully buoyant, highly talented and versatile as a dancer Gilda is a firm fixture on the national scene putting personality and charm into the art of burlesque. Gilda has been named "one of Scottish cabaret's most talented dancers" (The Skinny, 2010) "Lily's mixture of cat-like balletic expression and mimed interpretation will make the weariest Fringe-goer smile" (The Herald, 2010). Miss Jo feat. Iain Ewing
Getting together for a one off collaboration especially for you, Miss Jo and Iain Ewing will be fusing their acapella and crooning talents to bring you a blend of well known songs sung in a way you've never heard before. The multinational Miss Jo consists of Outi Smith from Finland, Julianne Dost from Germany and Sara Gale from Spain, the three charming chanteuses have chosen the Southside as their home and have delighted Glasgow audiences with their unique take on the hit list and old classic favourites. Iain Ewing takes to the stage naturally and is equally comfortable lending his velvet voice to accompany big bands, impromptu rock numbers and singing the hits of a bygone age solo. The results of this mix are not to be missed.
Bruce Morton & Andrew Learmonth Executive Committee of The Greater Shawlands Republic
GSR - " A movement and a state of mind"
"We aim to create not only the first independent republic within Glasgow's boundaries, but a truly funky republic. This can happen with the help and participation of you, the downtrodden, the hopeful and the huddled." - El Presidente
"Change is sweeping the South Side of Glasgow. A movement, a revolution .. Indeed the first outing of this gala night resulted in a sell-out show, with people being turned away at the door. With El Presidente Morton at the helm the South is sure to be liberated and entertained in some equal measure." - The Skinny
Stuart Thomson
This Southside master of magic has been entertaining Southside audiences as the resident magician for the monthly meet of the GSR.
