Fewer Dahlias II: Shuffle For Women (Again)
My advice to the women's clubs of America is to raise more hell and fewer dahlias." ~James McNeill Whistler
We might not be a women's club, and we aren't actually going to raise any hell, but we will be raising money!! ALL proceeds from this concert will be donated directly to Planned Parenthood and to Connections for Abused Women and Their Children. Because, as Beyoncé once said, "Best revenge is your paper."
All works on this program have been written by female composers and, in true Ursa programming fashion, span a broad timeline, from the Medieval Period to the Contemporary. Because, as Beyoncé once said, "Who run the world? Girls!"
To make this year's production even more amazing, Ursa Ensemble will be partnering with Noise Bias, a new music ensemble consisting exclusively of female-identified musicians and artists who collaborate to perform works by female-identifying composers.
Just like last time, this concert will be presented in a SHUFFLE style. This means that YOU, the audience member, get to CHOOSE the order of tunes we perform! Choosers will be chosen by a raffle drawing. Win the raffle, pick the next song! Everyone is automatically eligible to win: your admission includes 10 raffle tickets! Additional raffle tickets are available to purchase at $1 a ticket. ALSO! You can bring in a donation for Connections for Abused Women and their Children! 1 donation ALSO equals 1 raffle ticket!
