The 4th Annual 20/20 Awards Ceremony
Each year the 20/20 Awards revisit the movies and performances from two decades prior, and a voting body of film-makers renominate and vote on what work has stood the test of time. Oscars with hindsight.
In 1992, Clint Eastwood's western UNFORGIVEN took home the Oscar for Best Picture. Twenty years later, it's back, but this time it has some stiffer competition: THE CRYING GAME, GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, THE PLAYER, and RESERVOIR DOGS
The ceremony features 15 filmmakers and experts on the year in review, along with dozens of film clips. While the presenters offer great insight to a given work's longevity, the evening is a lampoon of awards ceremonies in general which doesn't take itself too seriously.
Past recipients include Martin Scorsese, Helen Mirren, and Anthony Hopkins. All nominees are mailed invitations, and last year several were in attendance so you never know who'll show up.
In addition to the ceremony, we will be featuring a silent auction, and you can also bid on some original poster art commissioned for this year's ceremony.
NOTE: There are no age restrictions for this event, but it does contain mature subject matter, language and imagery.
