Music for Soprano, Clarinet, and Piano
Music from the Beartooths brings together Red Lodge's own Lynell Kruckeberg, nationally-known clarinetist James Shields, and Red Lodge Music Festival favorite, pianist Cary Lewis for a warm and cozy escape from the too-early winter. The concert will feature old and new works composed to exploit the especially mellifluous sounds of this special combination.
The concert will be presented in the intimate space of the Red Lodge Community Church, Sunday, November 12, at 3:00 pm. There will be an informal reception after the concert.
Soprano and expert skier Lynell Kruckeberg is familiar to the region for her performances in the lead role of Rimrock Opera's La Traviata, and numerous solo appearances in our series. Cary Lewis has been a long-time favorite of the Red Lodge Music Festival; and is active in chamber music throughout the West Coast; he is also a director of the famed Astoria Music Festival. This is James Shield's first appearance in Red Lodge. His principal base is Oregon, but he performs in chamber music and orchestral appearances throughout North America.
