Formed in 2007, The Wynntown Marshals have been championed since their earliest days by legendary British broadcaster Whispering Bob Harris who described them as A real favourite of mine. The band signed to Europes leading roots/Americana label Blue Rose Records in 2013 and have racked up universally stunning reviews for each of their 3 albums: Westerner (2010) was called the best Americana album from Europe ever by RootsTime in Belgium, and its successor The Long Haul was placed at number 10 in the Sunday Heralds list of the 50 top Scottish albums of 2013, ahead of new releases from big-hitters like Texas, Travis and Biffy Clyro.
The Marshals' sound can loosely be described as country rock', with uplifting melodies channelled via strident guitars and gorgeous vocal harmonies and offset by beautiful keyboard parts and driven by a rock-solid rhythm section.
They have supported several world-renowned Americana acts including Marty Stuart, Richmond Fontaine and Jason & The Scorchers. Also, in 2008 the Marshals toured the UK opening for the influential American singer-songwriter Chuck Prophet, and performed to critical acclaim at the 2008 and 2009 Kilkenny Rhythm & Roots Festivals in Ireland.
