HOW I CAME TO BE WHERE I NEVER WAS at NOVEMBERFEST
Jonny Fluffypunk grew up in suburban nowhere. In 1984, he was fifteen. This is a story about trying to find yourself, when you find yourself somewhere you dont belong. It's about unrequited love, John Peel and the importance of a good record shop. Its about being the first punk in the village, and also about trains and memory and letting go. This is a new lo-fi stand-up spoken word theatre show for anyone who has ever loved, owned a vinyl record or just been alive.
Produced in partnership with Strike A Light and supported by Bristol Old Vics Ferment programme.
If youve ever had a teenage crush or been spellbound by the magic of a beat-up vinyl, you would be crazy to miss this performance- Epigram, Bristol
Things the public are saying:
A little work of genius
Sparking life at a tremendous rate
A wonderfully chaotic, moving piece of theatre
Brilliant, evocative, eloquent
Jonny Fluffypunk is a writer and performer who has been dragging his art around the spoken word and alternative cabaret circuits for over 15 years. A regular at gigs and festivals across the country, he has previously toured his show Man Up, Jonny Fluffypunk: One Mans Struggle With Late Onset Responsibility to over sixty venues as disparate as Leicester Square Theatre, a village church and a railway goods shed in a flagrant championing of homespun DIY culture. Jonny has two volumes of writing out with Burning Eye Books.
Supported by POETS ON THE HILL Poets On The Hill is a poetry collective from Townhill in Swansea. The group was conceived during the Dylan Thomas Centenary after being part of the BBC Wales documentary Lovely Ugly: Poet On The Estate featuring dub-poet Benjamin Zephaniah. The group consists of budding poets and writers hailing from the Townhill and Mayhill area. They meet weekly to develop their creative writing and perform their pieces at local poetry and writing events. #POTH is supported by University Of Wales Trinity Saint David and Communities First.
