Youre invited to another New Heights! Join us at St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church for this gala event on Saturday, October 21, 6:00 pm 9:00 pm, as we celebrate the strides weve made serving our neighbors and preserving our historic buildings amidst the challenges of the past year.
April 27, 2017, marked 170 years since the doors of our landmark church were first opened. For 10 months prior to this milestone anniversary, critical and costly repairs were made to the sanctuary ceiling. To highlight this accomplishment, well host the opening reception of New Heights in the church. From there, well proceed into our recently renovated parish hall for the main event.
New Heights will feature food and drink, live entertainment, a silent auction and a special presentation of the second annual Spirit & Service awards to veteran educator and community advocate, Dr. Evelyn Castro, and local realtor and neighborhood friend, Christopher Thomas.
St. Ann's endures as a spiritual home to many and a bona fide community commons and resource. Our program partners include the Brooklyn Book Festival, Brooklyn Folk Festival, String Orchestra of Brooklyn, The Moth, Books Are Magic and the Brooklyn Heights Association. The Forum @ St. Ann's continues to host concerts, exhibitions, readings, and panel discussions on important issues of the day.
The people of St. Ann's persist in caring for our neighbors in need, addressing food insecurity among Brooklynites, and participating annually in the Volunteers of America Operation Backpack, New York Cares Coat Drive and CAMBA Toys for Joy programs. In the face of crises, we respond swiftly, as we did with a successful donation drive for the Texas Diaper Bank organized immediately after Hurricane Harvey. Service to others remains at the heart of our mission.
And, of course, preserving our landmark churchwhich is on the National Register of Historic Places and a New York State and City historic landmarkremains a priority.
Were holding our own at St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church, thanks to supporters and friends like you! Please register to attend the gala at any level. If you are unable to join us, your generous donation will be deeply appreciated. Finally, all are welcome to this event, regardless of ability to pay. You are invited to purchase a ticket for someone who cannot afford it.
Thank you for helping us along an exciting trajectory to a hopeful future. See you at New Heights!
