Billy King & Jennifer Jones house concert
Billy King's versatility as a multi-genre singer-songwriter is matched by his ability on a wide range of instruments from guitar and banjo to keyboards and accordion. His presence in the independent music scene brings an original blend of rootsy folk/pop with an occasional touch of country swing. Living and working on the family farm near Brooklyn, Billy has been writing and recording since a youngster and, with his brother Ken, started Holler Fest, a three-day music festival featuring Michigan artists. Influenced by master songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon, Billy crafts melodically compelling songs that maintain a sense of the timeless and classic.
Ann Arbor, Michigan native Jennifer Jones learned the basics of guitar while sitting in a circle of fellow college women all wanting to play and song write. By 2011, Jones had written over 25 songs, released a debut album and performed in a number of venues. Today she continues her journey through singing and songwriting, performs with Ann Arbor-based band The Understorey (whose guitarist is Billy King!) and is currently working on an EP release set for appearance sometime in 2019. Jones currently works with a number of southeastern Michigan artists and groups providing management, marketing and booking services to The Ragbirds, The Understorey and Sarah Price, The Ark, Cultivate Coffee and Tap House, Chelsea Alehouse Brewery; and is associated with Detroit-based promoter, Grand Circus Media for booking at Otus Supply.
