Treasure Fest
Festival Description: This fall Festival will be a chance to experience Treasure Lake and its intimate festival grounds, large fishing lake, and extensive, well managed forest and farm. This will be our third Treasure Fest as it returns with an expanded and dynamic lineup of musicians and continues with its education theme through a forest ecology walk from property steward, Doug Crouch. The music will be diverse, from near and far, and will be a mix of mainly bluegrass and pickin' music but also reggae late night in the bar. Our main stage is located in a valley with a homemade stage creating a natural amphitheater with great acoustics. it allows for stadium seating viewing or dancing the night away stage-side. You can enjoy the music, eat great food, go fishing, camp out, learn a bit along the way and meet new people for lasting connections. Music will start around 3:30 PM and continue all day and night until around 1AM. On the main stage we'll have several bands playing folk, bluegrass, and country to keep your feet tapping throughout the afternoon and evening. For our late night set in the bar, we have a local reggae band to shake your bones and move your soul to.(See website for lineup and schedule.) The good times don't have to stop there so plan to camp out with us and hang out around the community bonfires where you're sure to make new friends. Remember that all campsites are primitive so bring what you feel is necessary for a comfortable evening. The gates open at noon and the permaculture/ ecology walk will be from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. During dinner we will have a Kalimba set to provide a nice dining festive atmosphere to celebrate the food that nourishes us.
Music Lineup: The lineup of musicians we present of this festival will be local and beyond giving a blend of folk, bluegrass, and contemporary jams. The music was selected to give crowd favorites and give the stage to up and coming local bands in a festive blend with our two stages.
Headliner- The Pickin' Pear Tia Martini and Leon Elam - The Pickin Pear - branch out from Canyon Collected to create a folk 'n' roll duo. They combine their non-traditional stylings to their traditional instruments and create an original mix of modern American music. Together the Pickin Pear take the banjo and ukulele down the road of folk, rock, and bluegrass. Sometimes the ukulele will even launch you straight to outer space. A blend of top-notch songwriting and improvisational jamming makes each one of their songs sound unique. In August & September 2017, Pickin' Pear will play almost 50 shows in CO, OR, MT, AR, IL, IN, OH, KY, and TN. Together, they want to live a life of music forever.
Downtown County Band- (members of) Americana or Alt-Country, or Punk-Rock-Blues, played through a traditional bluegrass instrument arrangement- a genre that has yet to be tagged.
Pat Hu- unique picking style and sinister vocals.
Working Class Villains- If you like beer joints, corn liquor, the Highwaymen, California country and hot licks, then you'll love Working Class Villain. All purpose music.
Positive Reaction- A local Cincinnati Reggae band that covers classics and radiates their true message through their originals. +++No outside alcohol is permitted in the music venue, literally its the law as we have a bar on-site. Please plan on purchasing your beer from Treasure Lake. We have a large selection of domestic beers and many craft beers from local breweries to choose from and all are reasonably priced. Cash only besides at the door. +++
