CHEKHOV TRIPTYCH three Chekhov stories in concert for string trio and actors
Original music by Colin Pip Dixon Adaptation by Dominique Rozan and Colin Pip Dixon
Music that tells a story. Stories that become music.
Chekhov Triptych brings three poignant stories to life through music: I. A married couple finds out they may have won the lottery II. Alone in the big city with only his horse as companion, an old coach driver tries to find someone who will listen to him. III. The toboggan flies into the abyss as he leans forward and whispers I love you, Nadia!
The great Russian playwright, Anton Chekhov, was also an extraordinary short story writer and a medical doctor! Doctor of the human soul, in his stories he dissects our hopes, our dreams, our contradictions and our hidden pain. Sold-out to enchanted audiences at the Festival in the Château de Machy in France (July 2017), Chekhov Triptych comes to New York with award winning actress Libby Skala (Best Solo performer, London Fringe Festival) and veteran Broadway actor MacIntyre Dixon.
The Elsewhere Ensemble Featuring: MacIntyre Dixon (actor) Libby Skala (actor) Colin Pip Dixon (violin) Arnaud Ghillebaert (viola) Cyril Simon (cello)
In honor of Chekhov's work as a doctor, all proceeds from this concert will be given to Doctors Without Borders, in oder to support their extraordinary and courageous work.
