LIKE A STORM
Biography:
Originally from New Zealand, Like A Storm is a rock band comprised of Chris Brooks (vocals/guitar/programming/didgeridoo), Matt Brooks (vocals/guitar/programming), and Kent Brooks (bass/vocals/programming). In a matter of a few years, these brothers went from playing in small bars in Canada to large arenas in the US, opening for national acts such as: Creed, Shinedown, Puddle of Mudd, Skillet, and Alter Bridge. Their debut album, 'The End of the Beginning'produced by Mike Plotnikoff (Three Days Grace/My Chemical Romance/Buckcherry) and Igor Khoroshev (Yes)entered at #61 on Billboard's New Artist Charts from tour sales alone. Also, Like A Storm's first single, "Chemical Infatuation", was added to radio stations all across the country and its music video--directed by David Yarovesky (Gwen Stefani, Rihanna, 50 Cent, T-Pain)--won the video grand prize four months in a row on Ourstage.com.
After performing alongside huge bands at Rock On The Range and Rocklahoma in 2010, Like A Storm returned to the studio with Mike Plotnikoff to record their Acoustic EP, which was sold exclusively on tour and online. The band then went back out on the road and completed two very successful tours with one of their favorite bands: Alter Bridge. In the summer of 2011, they performed at a few more festivals before taking time off to work on their second album and an acoustic dvd.
Kicking off 2012 with a 7-week national Private Show Tour to promote "Southern Skies" (their self-produced, acoustic dvd), Like A Storm played over 30 shows and gained a lot of recognition in the media; their first television appearance on 'Hampton Roads Show' brought in 70,000+ viewers (one of the program's highest ratings ever). That summer, the band rejoined Creed on tour in May and played at Common Ground and Sunnerfest. After several months of non-stop touring and recording on the road, Like A Storm proudly embarked on their own national headline tour -- "Unleash the Chaos" Tour -- in the fall. While on the road, they released their much-anticipated second album, 'Chaos Theory: Pt 1' (which was mixed by Elvis Baskette and mastered by Brad Blackwood) and their video for "Never Surrender" (directed by Christopher Fisher and produced by Dustin Larsen).
'Chaos Theory: Pt 1' will hit airwaves in winter 2012; the band looks forward to touring throughout 2013.
