Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Gathering
The Bluegrass and Acoustic Gathering, presented by Foxfire at Alpine Restaurant, celebrates its 3rd anniversary on June 30th and July 1st and 2nd, 2017. The festival takes place in Mellody Field in the heart of Alpine, Arizona. We have two days of toe-tapping bluegrass followed by a Sunday morning gospel jam. A little about our entertainers...
-Rudy Cortese-the current Arizona State banjo champion
-The Back Porch Bandits-they have played at just about every Arizona Bluegrass Festival-Marana, Bisbee, Lake Havasu, Phoenix, Tempe, Laughlin and beyond
-Greg Morton-a world-class flatpicker from Tucson. He plays there weekly and around the state at all the  bluegrass festivals
-A duo named after a tune by Townes Van Zandt-Mr. Mudd and Mr. Gold are great musicians if a little off beat
-American Longspurs-a Phoenix favorite and one of the hottest new bands in the state
-Monk and Wanda Maxwell-bringing a little old time county to the festival
-Bush Valley Rounders-our local band and the group that gets all of our small town dancing
-Jam Pak Blues "N" Neighborhood Band-If you know anything about Arizona bluegrass then you know Anni Beach and her small group (about 18) of young musicians. We are thrilled to have Anni and the kids back for the third year!
-Cabin John-one of the many groups that found its origin in Jam Pak
-Rob Wright-an alumni of the New Christy Minstrels
-Cisco and the Racecars-led by Cisco, a former Arizona Banjo Champion, this group has deep roots with Jam Pak as well and competes and plays statewide
