Paul Mealor Conducts PopUp Choir #12
"Living in the North-East of Scotland, nestled between the ocean and the Scottish Highlands, I am conscious, particularly early in the year, of darkness. Throughout the Aberdeen winter, we can see very little light; but, we can see shadows. For me, as for many poets and composers, shadows become a metaphor. These are often of darkness; however, I chose to see shadows as a reflection of the soul. They are that non-physical thing that our bodies cast, reflections... Shadows need a little light to exist, but vanish in too much light... in this programme of music, we seek the light in the shadows; the candle in the darkness; the still small voice; the whispers of hope in a otherwise deafening world."
For those wanting to be assured of a seat at this very special collaboration with Paul Mealor, PopUp Choir offers this opportunity to purchase tickets until July 15th. Any remaining tickets will be available starting in mid-November. Ticket holders chosen to perform in this project will have their purchase credited to their participation fee.
