The Overton Project's founder and bandleader Duval Overton started his first band, The Glass City Players in high school, which was one of many bands he founded. In 1978 Duval joined Sweet Country a country rock band that toured Ohio for 4 years. Then Duval began touring with artists like The Clark Sisters, Rance Allen, Dennis Byrd, Sister Sledge, Joseph Vincelli and Spyra Gyra; as well as Music Director for Bo Diddly and A.J. Reed. By 1988, Duval constructed the band, Blueprint, which toured for 3 years. Then he played for the Turner Williams Group with the likes of Tom Turner, and Author Vaughan. He also played 2 years in the Toledo Rhythm Project. Duval was the featured bass for The Jeff Williams Group. In 2012 Duval joined with Aayan Naim, Nelson Overton II and Jeff Williams, to form The Good The Bad and The Blues, and made it to the International Blues Competition semi-finals! In 2014 Duval become a band director again and "The Overton Project was reborn. Our goal is to become a valued part of any entertainment lineup by providing great music that will get the audience on the dance floor. We take pride in bringing professionalism to our gigs which give the listener a great experience. The Overton Project will keep the crowd happy and entertained for an evening of dining and spirits.
