DANNY, COME HOME
DANNY, COME HOME is an original musical from the creators of the SLO Little Theatre hit, We're Canceling Cable (And Other Empty Threats). Inspired by our own local headlines, the story is about a small town that is split in half over a homegrown controversy: who gets to keep a run-away dog? Its about the way rumors and public opinions spiral out of control, and how people fall in love and reinvent themselves on the internet . But above all, its a classic musical comedy tale of Boy meets Girl meets Dog.
Michael Kaplan wrote the three-act comedy, Love Town, which was produced by the Pewter Plough Playhouse in 2009 and has been published by Samuel French. He created Were Canceling Cable! (And Other Empty Threats), which included songs he wrote with Mark Pietri. Cable was produced by the SLO Little Theater as part of the After Hours series in 2015. This is his third Central Coast production of original work.
Mr. Pietri studied classical and jazz piano at Hartt School of Music in CT. And has worked as a musician extensively in NYC, NJ and CT as well as LA and now the central coast. He has served as Music Director for such shows as Company, Oliver, Chorus Line and many more. In 2015 "Cancelling Cable (And Other Empty Threats)" was produced at the SLO Little Theater. Mr. Pietri currently teaches as an Emeritus Professor for Cuesta College and also teaches piano privately. This production is the 2nd collaboration between Michael, Mark and Jill Turnbow, having previously produced "We're Cancelling Cable..and Other Empty Threats".
