STOWAWAY
STOWAWAY is an evening of Celtic Folk and Rock music, fusing songs and sounds from the Canadian Maritimes, French Canada, Scotland, Ireland and England.
Popular Montreal Folk Rock Band MARINER'S CURSE, teams up with world renowned Scottish Piper, Craig Weir, to bring you an evening like you've never experienced before.
Montrealers will be familiar with the foot-stomping, get-up-and-dance music and songs of Mariner's Curse, whose members include, Thierry Arseneault, Sean Dagher, Rocky Dalonzo, Ron Jenkins, Alex Kehler and virtuoso fiddler, Jonathan Moorman.
Add to the mix, Craig Weir, a young Scottish piper who has been taking the world by storm, playing for such luminaries as the Dalai Lama, Queen Elizabeth and numerous other heads of state, playing alongside Brian May of the Rock Group Queen as well as The Bay City Rollers, and just recently returned from the New York City Tartan Week Celebrations where he and his own band Gleadhraich were guest performers at numerous venues including the VIP room at the famous BB King's just off Times Square. Craig's personal mandate is to bring the pipes to a new generation and blend their unique sound with well known rock classics as well as his own unique compositions.
The Stowaway concert promises to be a fantastic evening that will have you dancing in the aisles and screaming for more.
To make the evening even more special, the proceeds from this concert will go to the Lesley Head Go Fund Me Charity. Lesley Head is a graduate of the Theatre Department at John Abbott College in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue in Montreal's West Island which will host the Stowaway Concert. Lesley was involved in a tragic Skiing accident last winter which has left her a quadriplegic. The Theatre Department wishes to use this concert to help raise money to cover some of Lesley's re adaptation necessities and allow her to live her life as independently as she is able.
