ProgEaster: Colony w/ Dartboi, Pantomime, and Spectral
ProgEaster: Progressive Spring continued, featuring Colony w/ Dartboi, Pantomime, and Spectral
This show will kick off the long weekend with a fine selection of bands, taking place on Good Friday at Lee's Palace and featuring the following bands:
Colony https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-dI3G8IxItCNqgJ9AH1pwA/videos Melodic groove-filled progressive rock/metal from Barrie, ON. Fronted by Kenny Parry (who also sings in Jupiter Hollow and Chasing Shadows), the band's sound incorporates a variety of elements, their listed influences include Haken, Tool, Karnivool, Rush, and King Crimson.
Dartboi https://soundcloud.com/dartboimusic Instrumental/experimental/jazz/rock fusion quartet, described as "experimental" and a "smorgasbord for the senses". The music is a tasteful channeling of 70s styles while also throwing in modern progressive influences. They will be playing a set filled with prog compositions and some improv tunes.
Pantomime https://pantomimetheband.bandcamp.com/ A power trio playing upbeat party prog rock/metal. A band that will appeal to those who like complexity in their music as well as listeners who enjoy concise energetic songs to rock out to.
SPECTRAL https://spectralofficial.bandcamp.com/album/orbit Instrumental progressive metal band playing crushingly heavy compositions with a variety of influences (including groove, djent, jazz and bossa nova). Do not miss this monumental opener as they are guaranteed to deliver!
