A Roll for Peter / Skagafjörður

An intimate evening of 16mm film, including the hour long, multi-maker tribute to the late Peter Hutton, A Roll for Peter (2016), and Hutton's own Skagafjörður (2004), his silent, 33 minute meditation on the landscapes of northern Iceland and the Hudson River Valley, in color and black & white. Of Skagafjörður, Scott MacDonald writes: "it is among his most remarkable Luminist works".

Copies of the Thomas Cole National Historic Site's full color catalog, Peter Hutton: Hudson River Filmmaker, in which Scott MacDonald's essay appears, will be available for sale at the screening.

This will be the only chance to see A Roll for Peter in the East Bay although it will screen on a very different program at San Francisco's Other Cinema on Saturday, 1 April.

Aggregate Space Gallery, who recently celebrated their 5th anniversary, is within walking distance of the 19th St Oakland BART station.

Doors open at 7:30, screening starts at 8.
