Sharing Our Song
The Tacoma Youth Chorus Chorale, Mens Choir and Womens Choir, and special guest choir, Northwest Repertory Singers, will join in a concert presenting works by Eric Whitacre, Gwyneth Walker, Dan Forrest and Moses Hogan, among others. The choirs will combine in their last set to sing Z. Randall Stroope's stunning "Lamentations of Jeremiah," Andre Thomas' inspiring "I Dream A World," and an adaptation by Rollo Dilworth of "I Sing Because I'm Happy."
Tacoma Youth Chorus has just celebrated its 25th year of serving the youth of the South Puget Sound region. With more than 230 singers in six choirs (grades 2-12), and an intro to music program (grades K-1), Tacoma Youth Chorus has a reputation for choral music excellence. Dr. Linda Miller, Chair of the Music Education Department at Pacific Lutheran University, perhaps described TYC best: "You have built an amazing organization that is a gift to those who participate, to the community, and certainly to your listeners."
