We are proud to present this first ever meeting of three intensely brilliant improvisers.
Three solo sets followed by their debut collaboration-
Bill Orcutt played guitar in the legendary, world ending, Harry Pussy and has since electrified the world of solo guitar with a uniquely intense and soulful music. His recent collaborations with musicians such as Chris Corsano and Haley Fohr have added further dimension to his musical worldview. His albums for VDSQ, Mego and his own Palilalia label are highly sought after across the world and his live performances always nothing short of astonishing.
Eyvind Kang is a Viola master having recorded with everyone from John Zorn to the Sun City Girls. His incredible performances are a recent gift to Los Angeles as he has recently relocated to teach at Cal Arts. His latest recording is a split LP with Tashi Dorji on the Unrock label from Germany. This will be his first collaboration with these musicians.
Greg Kelley is alternately the loudest and quietest trumpet player on any given night. As half of Nmperign with Bhob Rainey, Greg set a benchmark for 21st Century microtonal music. One of the worlds great improvisors, he has collaborated in groups such as Cold Bleak Heat with Chris Corsano and Paul Flaherty and his longtime group Heathen Shame with Wayne Rogers and Kate Village. Greg has appeared on records from artists as diverse as Kevin Drumm and Pants Yell! and will be performing solo in Los Angles for the first time in many years. What he will perform is anyone's guess, that it will be great isn't.
