HANDEL vs. PHILIP GLASS
ARCO-PDX takes the stage again with a mash-up of old and new, from the sublime genius of Handel to the minimalist masterpieces of Philip Glass, Jacob TV, and Portland's own Scott Anthony Shell! Singer-violinist / one-man band Joe Kye opens the night with a set of original live-loop creations.
ARCO brings you classical orchestral and chamber music with a 21st century attitude. Amplified so you can talk, laugh, drink, dance...just like you would at a rock concert. Yet performing each piece exactly as written-no watered-down arrangements, no cheap rhythm track-out of respect for the composers and the audience. Top if off with sound-responsive visuals for an unforgettable, multimedia concert experience!
