On Saturday, February 04, 2017, A Day at the Beach concert series will be continuing it's 5th season with a Mid Winter's Funk Fantasy. The event will feature Fred Wesley, legendary trombonist and one of the original J.B. horns with his group the New J.B.'s. Also performing will be the pedal and lap steel doctor , Roosevelt Collier with his new project Phunk Phactory. Once again we will be kicking the show off with G.O.G.O. youth group, and we'll have DJ Le Spam spinning a vast variety of funk 45 classics!

Legendary bandleader, trombonist and author Fred Wesley is one of the forefathers of funk who still is setting the standard with his jazz-funk band The New JBs. As music director for James Brown and the JBs, arranger for P-Funk and one third of the amazing JB Horns, he secured his place in funk history forever.
