Anthony Spiri and Adiadne Daskalakis have performed multiple programs concentrating on the Viennese Classical School and have recently recorded the complete works for violin and piano by Brahms.
Ariadne Daskalakis enjoys an international career as violin soloist, baroque violinist, and renowned pedagogue. She has concertized with fine orchestras and has collaborated with the Prague, Cologne, and Stuttgart Chamber Orchestras, the Ensemble Oriol Berlin, the Academy for Ancient Music Berlin, the Norwegian Baroque Orchestra, Concerto Koln, the Munich BR Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Academy of Ancient Music Berlin, the English Chamber Orchestra and too many to mention. She has received awards from the Harvard Music Association, the New England Conservatory, and the Dortmund Mozart Society. She has studied violin at the New England Conservatory Prep School and the Julliard School and has additional degrees from Harvard College and Hochschule der Kunste Berlin. She is a professor of violin at the Cologne Conservatory and, in 2015, became Artistic Director of the European Academy of Music and Art in Montepulciano, Italy. Her numerous recordings document her versatility and expressive sound.
Anthony Spiri is one of the most versatile and highly-regarded accompanists in the international world of lied, chamber, and soloist musicians. He received his initial musical education in Cleveland before studying at Brandeis. As a scholarship recipient he completed further studies in Paris, Basel, and Vienna. He received his Diplome with honors from the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He is a regular guest at renowned festivals throughout the world and has given recitals in Europe, Japan, and America. As soloist he has appeared, for example, with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Camerata Salzburg, Ensemble Wien Modern, the Kammerorchester Basel, and Mozarteum Orchester. He has extensive discography of solo and chamber music repertoire and is Professor of Piano Chamber Music at the Cologne Conservatory. In adddition to publications concerning Alessandro Scarlatti and the sons of J.S. Bach, he is engaged in researching the nature of Ancient Roman music and the performance practice of Gregorian chant.
