Music Returns to the Bakken Museum!
7:00 Private Museum Opens 7:30 Music Begins $30, includes wine ticket and tasty nibbles Bakken Museum, 3537 Zenith Ave S, Minneapolis 55416
On Monday evening ($30, includes wine ticket) well be performing the Debussy and Prokofiev at the Bakken Museum in Minneapolis, bringing music back to the Bakken after over 20 years! Doors open at 7:00pm to privately tour the museum with docents available, and to grab a glass of wine and something to nibble on before the concert starts at 7:30pm inside the beautiful historic mansions great hall. The program will last about an hour and includes remarks from the musicians about each piece. After the music concludes, guests are welcome to meander around the museum and strike up a conversation with the musicians until doors close around 9:00pm. Both venues are ADA accessible and include free parking very close by.
The Musical Offering presents a variety of music for strings, winds, and piano and hosts a flexible roster of musicians drawn from the Minnesota Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, as well as other top local performers. With its flexibility is size, this group presents some of the greatest chamber music written, ranging between two to as many as 13 this season as we present Aaron Coplands Appalachian Spring in its original instrumentation on April 23rd, 2017. TMOs repertoire spans several centuries ranging from the classical music of the 1700s, such as J.S. Bachs The Musical Offering, to the finest music being composed today.
