Party on Block 18
This is the third biennial block party, thrown by the food businesses on 18th Street to thank their neighbors for supporting them and raise money for six local nonprofit organizations.

18th Street will be closed off, and short rib tacos (Namu Gaji) beef meatloaf sandwiches (Bi-Rite Market), salted caramel ice cream cups (Bi-Rite Creamery), mac and cheese (Dolores Park Café), mango lassi drinks and Kati rolls (Kasa) and more will be available for purchase. Wine and beer from local winemakers and brewers will be poured, and music performances will be of the youthful and local variety. A pie baking contest at 1:30PM will be the climax of the afternoon.

All event and pie baking contest proceeds go directly to the following beneficiaries: Buen Dia Family School, 826 Valencia, 18 Reasons, Nextcourse, Holy Family Day Home and The Women's Building. Organizers include Bi-Rite Market & Creamery, Cervecería de MateVeza, Delfina & Delfina Pizzeria, Dolores Park Café, Faye's Video & Espresso Bar, Tartine Bakery, Out the Door, Regalito, Kasa Indian Eatery, namu gaji, Izakaya Yuzuki and Pot and Pantry.

Pie time! Do your friends swoon when you bake pie? Enter our pie contest!... It's $20 to enter, and all pie contest proceeds will be donated to our six beneficiaries.

Pies must be able to be served cold or room temperature.

Pies must be delivered by 12PM
Judging will start at 1:30PM
There will be a minimum of three judges per category

Originality of Recipe

Each judge shall assign a numerical value (1-10) in each criteria category, without verbal consultation with other judges or outside parties.
The pie receiving the highest total numerical value in each category is the winner. In the case of a tie, the judges will taste and judge the pies again.

Grand Prize winner
Each 1st Prize winning pie will be judged again.
Judges will decide which pie is the Grand Prize Pie.
In the category of the Grand Prize winning pie, the 2nd Place pie will become the 1st, the 3rd Place becomes 2nd, and the 4th becomes 3rd. Winners in all categories will be announced after the judging is complete.

Fruit, Chocolate, Nut or Other

The Grand Prize Winning Pie will be sold off at the event.
All other pies will be sold at the contest site.
