Ryanhood Returns! with the Oak Street Ramblers
Ryanhood returns by popular demand to Arboretum Cohousing's lovely Common House. The show will be opened by Madison's finest bluegrass band, The Oak Street Ramblers.
Named 'Best Group/Duo' in the 2014 International Acoustic Music Awards, Tuscon's acoustic-duo Ryanhood tours nationally, and will join us as they move across the midwest to the eastern seaboard. Their airtight vocal harmonies and explosive riffs were recently featured on This American Life.
The Oak Street Ramblers take their name from the east-side Madison street that connects them. Meeting as neighbors, their perfectly integrated sound reflects their long and close history. Their large following and popularity at regional festivals, pubs, and the Union Terrace earns them the reputation as Madison's best bluegrass band.
Ryanhood and The Oak Street Ramblers will be performing at Arboretum Cohousing on Friday, October 14th. Arbco is an intentional living community located in the heart of Madison's Greenbush neighborhood. It prides itself in hosting community outreach activities. With 40 units and 95 members, it is the largest of Madison's three cohousing communities.
=================================
What they're saying about Ryanhood:
Powerfully genuine Tracks that convey positive messages of hope, acceptance, change, growth, and a better understanding of lifes lessons. Ryanhood should be applauded for having the courage and sense of self to be so open-hearted in a hard, cruel world. Zocalo Magazine
Hoods vocal delivery brings an affecting authenticity. Throughout, they play furiously together and Greens melodic leads and solos often provide the highlights. Their trademark acoustic folk-pop sound will remind some listeners of the work of Dan Fogelberg and Simon & Garfunkel. Tucson Weekly
The band seems like a match made in radio heaven. Ryanhood got a standing ovation after its act opening for pop star Jason Mraz.... easily winning over the audience of more than 1,500. Arizona Daily Star
"Enough pop to be radio hits and enough folk that it's still cool to listen to them." The Anchorage Press
"Ryanhood took stage at 8 p.m. Consisting of two guitars and two guys in ties, this band won the crowd by 8:02. Receiving a standing ovation, I think Ryanhood will be this generations new mix of Simon and Garfunkel, America, and U2." Idaho State Journal
