THE BEBOP COWBOYS RIDE AGAIN!
It's been a long time, hasn't it folks?? Your favourite top-shelf swing-a-billy outfit are dusting off their cowboy boots to bring you the shiniest, snappiest night of western swing that money can buy. AND they're bringing along famed songwriter and vocalist RUSSELL deCARLE to boot. Yowzers! This night's gonna be real swell...
RUSSELL deCARLE
As lead vocalist and bassist of iconic Canadian country roots band Prairie Oyster, Russell deCarle is no stranger to awards and accolades. Over their career the 2008 CCMA Hall of Honour inductees have racked up an impressive list of JUNO and Canadian Country Music Awards, gold and platinum selling records and number one singles. As a songwriter deCarle has also been honoured with two SOCAN Song of the Year Awards. Once in 1994, for Prairie Oysters first number one single Such A Lonely One, and then again in 2008 for One Way Track, his co-write with Canadian folk legend, Willie P. Bennett. deCarle has been touring his Russell deCarle Trio (with Denis Keldie and Steve Briggs) this summer and will be putting the finishing touches on his second solo recording, due for release this year.
CANADIAN DANCE HALL
2016 marks the 10th anniversary of the release of the Bebop Cowboys' acclaimed recording; CANADIAN DANCE HALLthe band's labour of love that pays tribute to the Canadian community dance halls of the 30s 40s and 50s. Russell deCarle appears on the recording, which includes an original tune he penned with band leader Steve Briggs; "Shooting Star."
