Comedy Planet Presents (July '12)
Comedy Planet is: Live, professional stand up comedy at The Wormhole Bar every first Saturday of each month. Through Inside Joke Productions, one of the top booking agencies in the country, comedians from HBO, Comedy Central and the Tonight Show will appear on Comedy Planet which features a brand new touring comedian each month. A leading agency for the last dozen years, owner Steve Sabo has built his Toledo, OH based company into a booking giant, hosting over 25 venues in ten different states and employing thousands of comedians. A stand up himself, Sabo has appeared on HBO and is heard regular on SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and has performed for the troops in Iraq and Kuwait.
The July 7th, 2012 edition of Comedy Planet features headliner STEVE BURR. Burr got his start in stand-up comedy by placing third in the 1994 "Funniest Person in Rochester Contest". He has since gone on to become a favorite at comedy clubs and college campuses across the United States and Canada and also makes regular trips overseas to entertain US troops stationed in places like Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Japan. In addition to his stand-up career, Steve is he host of his own iTunes podcast show, "3 Things You Never Talk About" and has traveled the country as the face of the webisode series, "Odd America". He truly is a comedy must see!
Show opens with feature act Jake Head. Originally from Middleburg, FL Jake Head is a young comic/writer that is making waves in the comedy scene with his unique and witty style. He draws audiences in with his sincere likability and then takes them on a ride through his world as he sees it. Jake was top 10 in Comedy Centrals South Beach Comedy Festival 2011, Semi Finalist in Florida's Funniest Comedian 2011, and the Quarter Finals of the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival 2011. He has performed from Seattle to Miami and shared the stage with Eugene Mirman, Maria Bamford, and Marc Maron. An act not to be missed for years to come.
Showtime is 9PM with seating starting at 8PM. After the show there will be a concert. Guests are welcomed to stay until Last Call!
