Whisky Galore!
Sit back and enjoy this screening of the classic 1949 Ealing comedy...on a boat...with whisky!
Whisky Galore! is based on the real life 1941 shipwreck of the SS Politician, carrying 28,000 cases of whisky, off the island of Eriskay and the subsequent attempts by the islanders to salvage the cargo despite opposition from the authorities.
The Vine Trust barge, with its 20 seater cinema room, is situated at the Prince of Wales Dock in Leith, just off Ocean Drive, between Ocean Terminal and Tower Place roundabout. It's about a minute's walk from Malmaison by the Shore.
We'll have a dram before the film starts and a couple more afterwards. Drams will be suitably Whisky Galore themed! I'll also provide popcorn (because I'm nice like that).
