Portland Symphony Orchestra Kinderkonzert and Instrument Petting Zoo for Children
The Portland (Maine) Symphony Orchestra has scaled their music for the children in a Kinderkonzert performance especially for young people. The PSO's Kinderkonzert explores the different families of orchestral instruments while introducing young people to live symphonic music through fun and interactive programs with PSO musicians.
A highlight of the event is the Instrument Petting Zoo!
What is an Instrument Petting Zoo? It is an opportunity for children to touch, play and hear instruments with demonstrations by professional musicians. What instruments? Violin, Viola, Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Trumpets, Trombone, French Horn, Tuba and assorted Percussion instruments.
The event is sponsored by the Head Tide Church committee, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the historic Head Tide Church.
