MARIN ORATORIO Presents: MOZART & SALIERI - Friends and Rivals
Antonio Salieri is far better known today for the unfounded rumor that he murdered Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, than for his prodigious musical output. Yet in his day Salieri was actually the more successful and popular of these two beloved Viennese composers. Join Marin Oratorio as Mozart and Salieri share the stage for a program of musical competition and camaraderie. Featured will be Mozart's profound REQUIEM as well as the stirring KRONUNGS - TE DEUM by Salieri. Other works by both composers include chamber music for voice, organ, flute, and orchestra. The 100-voice Marin Oratorio Chorus and Orchestra will be joined by organist John Fenstermaker, flautist Carol Adee, and vocal soloists christa Pfeiffer, Heidi Waterman, Kyle Stegall, and Jeffrey Fields.
