Peter and The Wolf
Sergei Prokofiev wrote the story and music of "Peter and The Wolf" in 1936 for a children's theatre in Moscow. A whimsical and timeless tale, in which each character in the story has a particular instrument and a musical theme. Performed in the lovely, historic Piedmont Center For The Arts with custom-made Marionette puppets! So much going on in this production--puppets, theatre, music--a great children's introduction to music and orchestral instruments. Hear Peter's friend, the bird (flute), the ever-present cat (played by the clarinet), the duck (oboe) and old Grandfather (the bassoon).
The performance is 30 minutes long; complimentary cookies and juice will be served. There will be copies of the children's book, "Peter and The Wolf" for sale in the lobby.
