Les Bostonades 10th Anniversary Celebration!
Music of J.S. Bach, C.P.E. Bach, and Telemann, featuring special guests Robinson Pyle, trumpet and Christopher Palameta, oboe
Boston-based period-instrument ensemble Les Bostonades concludes its 10th season with three joyful, festive, resounding works that celebrate both individual virtuosity and the unique resonance of a full baroque ensemble. Directed by harpsichordist Akiko Sato, Les Bostonades comprises a flexible group of core instrumentalists and has also established a tradition of collaborating with esteemed guest artists. Sato will take the soloist's seat in C.P.E. Bach's Harpsichord Concerto in D minor, while internationally acclaimed oboist Christopher Palameta and local luminary, trumpeter Robinson Pyle will join the ensemble for J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 along with longtime Bostonades members Sarah Darling, violin, and Héloïse Degrugillier, recorder. Concert will conclude with excerpts from Telemann's Tafelmusik part 2.
The program includes:
Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767): Ouverture-Suite and Conclusion in D major, from Tafelmusik part 2 Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-88): Harpsichord Concerto in D minor Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750): Brandenburg Concerto no.2 in F major
